Three Years Old

Marissa turned 3 on August 11. She's paci-free, potty trained, and sleeping in a big girl bed. Here's a few more things I want to remember about her.

1. She loves Sophie. Anytime Sophie cries she starts singing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to help her calm down.

2. She loves to tell and listen to ghost stories. Lately her ghost's name is Poodie (???) and he is always a very spooky ghost.

3. I love her skin color, hair color, and the way her curls bounce when she walks. I don't love how it's always a mess; she hates anything in her hair except a clip.

4. Sometimes I can get her to eat a carrot if it's dipped in Ranch dressing. This summer she ate some broccoli for the first time ever (thanks, Andrew!). Mostly she's still picky as ever.

5. She changes her clothes at least 4 or 5 times a day. I'm not exaggerating one bit. The things she chooses seldom match and are usually inside out.

6. Dora and Clifford are still her favorite books and movies. I think she has all the Clifford books memorized (I do, at least.)

7. I could tickle her back and arms all day and it still wouldn't be enough.

8. Ryan and I didn't decide on her name until after she was born. It was between Marissa and Abby.

9. She still says, "Hold you" when she wants me to hold her. One day she'll figure out it's the wrong pronoun.

10. When I asked her recently if she wanted to learn to write her name in preschool this year, she answered, "No. Don't ask me again." Sheesh. I never said the girl doesn't have spunk.

We love you Sissy!

Aaaghh! Your kids are getting too big! I wish we could see them. Coming to Utah anytime soon? Sissy is so cute. I love the picture of Riley and her in the swim shorts! So funny! I am gearing up to potty train Branson soon. He is showing all the signs that I just got to take the plunge. Then after he's trained, I am getting my filthy carpets cleaned! :)

Oh, I really like your Marissa details. She is one cute girl! I love that she loves to be tickled and says "hold you." I hope she won't figure out that one for a while!

She is so cute! I love the spunk in the girls. It keeps us on our toes.
Enjoy having them both in preschool! Now what are you going to do with all that free time...

Yup. She is super cute and sounds super fun. I have an almost 3 year that has some similar traits. Like clothes. They never match do they?

Happy Belated Bday to Marissa! What a fun little girl. I can't quite believe she is 3...I remember clearly when you had her and we were in the presidency together, she was such a beautiful baby and still is! Love her little personality traits!

Great slideshow! I love seeing her change through the pics, especially since I hardly ever get to see her. She is so beautiful! I would pay good money to have hair the color of Marissa's. :) :) Happy Birthday Sissy!

So fun and cute! I, too, love watching her beautiful curls bounce around as she plays. I'm in love with her adorable voice. And I'm glad she likes Alton so much (quite the door greeting we got the other day)! She is one awesome little girl!!!

She is such a doll. Those pictures were too cute. It was fun to read this post and see all the things you love about her. She's a lucky girl to have you as her mom.

Nice video, although the soundtrack was suspect. Punch whoever came up with that idea... :-)

Why do slide show videos always make me cry?!
Marissa and Clara are so much alike - spunk and so fun! Plus the dark skin and big eyes kill me. Big hugs from your Utah friends!
